Since 1984, a pair of peregrine falcons has been nesting in the vicinity of Old Montreal. Once again this year, the pair has chosen the Stock Exchange Tower as its nesting site. Each year, the pair produces a family of two to four young falcons. This is a remarkable feat considering that just a few years ago the peregrine falcon was considered to be an endangered species which is no longer the case. This success is fully attributable to the efforts of David m. Bird, Ph.D., of the Avian Science and Conservation Centre of McGill University.
The staff and lawyers of Martineau Walker have taken the inituative to introduce Montrealers to this unique attraction in the city of Montreal, benefitting from the scientific knowledge of McGill University and the remarkable ability of the biodtme de Montrial to interpret science for the general public, they have sponsored the establishment of an information centre on the peregrine falcon that is located in the lobby of the Stock Exchange Tower.
