Santa-Cali-Gon Festival - Independence, Missouri

The Santa-Cali-Gon festival is always held on labor day weekend. It commemorates the Santa Fe, California and Oregon trails that ran through Independence, Missouri. During the festival the entire town (which is also famous because of our 33rd U.S. President Harry Truman) turns into a frontier town. There is always excellent Country and Western music and plenty of food.
